Max360 International has acquired the foreign rights to Michael Mohan’s romantic comedy “Save the Date,” four months after it screened at Sundance.
The newly minted content-distribution entity is selling “Save the Date” at Cannes.
The film is produced by Jordan Horowitz, Michael Roiff and Michael Huffington and exec produced by Gary Gilbert. Cast includes Lizzie Caplan, Alison Brie, Martin Starr, Geoffrey Arend and Mark Webber.
Mohan directed and co-wrote with Jeffrey Brown and Egan Reich. Story centers on a woman who breaks up with her overeager boyfriend and finds herself caught-up in an intense rebound relationship with new infatuation — while her sister is diligently planning her upcoming wedding.
The deal was negotiated by Elias Axume and Jack Campbell on behalf of Max360 International. CAA and XYZ Films negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers.
IFC has picked up domestic distribution.
