Comic-Con 2012: Save The Date Panel pics added

I have added my pics from the Save The Date panel at Comic-Con! I was really glad I ended up getting front row seats and took so many since there weren’t any “official” pics from the panel. Since they are my pics, they are exclusive to the site. So they are tagged. I will have a post about the panel later on today at my blog in case anyone is interested.

Some quick notes in regards to the panel which are important to the pics:

- Alison was the first one to arrive!
- Both Lizzy and Martin arrived late.
- When Lizzy arrived, Lizzy and Alison switched seats.
- Martin took a pic of his name sign. So that is why his name sign is backwards later.

Comic-Con 2012: Interview with Collider

Looks like I missed this interview Alison did with Collider during Comic-Con. Her bits are below:

The pair were as excited about the Community panel as the fans as they feel like this will be where they learn the most about the upcoming season.

In terms of what she’d like to see for her character, Alison Brie said “closure” while Yvette Nicole Brown would like “to see Shirley be successful at her business.” Brie tagged that by saying she’d like to see Annie be successful at love.

Dan Harmon is still in their lives, or as Brown put it, “it’s not like he got shipped off to Siberia.” He told her to tell everyone “don’t feel sorry for me, life is good.” Brie got to be a part of the animated pilot that Harmon did for Adult Swim.

The shift to Friday doesn’t phase them as Thursdays tend to be intensely competitive and most of their audience watches after the air time, though they’d like for the fans to watch live as well. They’re appreciative of the amazing fan base that has kept them on the air.

When asked about the pop culture infused in the show, Brie said, “We have to do a lot of research. I think our fans get a lot more references straight away than we do. Danny has the most research to do. One of the things that is so fun is that we learn so much about pop culture doing the show.” She then confessed that she hadn’t seen a Law and Order episode prior to the Community take on it, though now she’s hooked. Brie dated a nerdy boyfriend in high school so she had played Dungeons and Dragons.

Their dream list for the casting of Jeff’s dad included: Bill Murray, John Lithgow, Martin Short and Steve Martin.

NBC Boss Open to More Community & Insists Fans Will Get ‘Same Show’

Here is some scoop for Community at Television Critics Association’s summer press tour earlier today.

NBC’s top exec insists Community has not been sent to Friday night to die.

At the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, Peacock chairman Robert Greenblatt maintained that the cult fave is not necessarily heading into its final season. ”I would love nothing more than for Community to have a following on Friday and continue,” he told reporters, adding that the decision to move the show off Thursdays was part of a larger plan to “broaden the audience” of its sitcoms.

“We’re in a transition with our comedy programming,” he explained. “Those Thursday comedies, which the critics love and we love, tend to be a bit more narrow than we would ultimately like as we go forward. Community has always been on the bubble and we decided to bring it back and see what a fourth season will do for us.”

Regarding the ouster of showrunner Dan Harmon, Greenblatt said, “I think the fans of Community are going to get the same show that they have loved from the beginning. Every so often, it’s time to make a change with the showrunner. You sort of evaluate the creative and how the show is run and how the writing staff works… [and] sometimes you want to freshen the show. We just decided it was time to do that on Community. No disrespect to anyone.”
